This 4-week cohort-based course is for Complete Beginners, Junior PMs or APMs, as well as Hands-on Learners in general. It's also the pre-requisite course to the Co.Lab program where you get to build a MVP with a team.
Maybe you've heard about Product Management but don't know where to begin. Or you're already in Product Management, but want to take your ideation, research, and spec skills to the next level while learning about industry best practices. Either way, you're a hands-on learner. You're not looking for a step-by-step article... you want to speak to actual users, and learn Product strategy with a community of like-minded peers. That's what you'll get to do with Co.Lab's Product Management Sprint Program.
This program requires two to five hours of solo and group work per week, throughout the 4-week experience. There is an opportunity to decide if you want to continue to the Co.Lab program and build out your idea with a team. Acceptance to the 8-week bootcamp is based on participation and performance during the Sprint program.
There are live events every Monday, and a live celebration party at the end of Week 4.
You'll get access to 8+ classes taught by the Co.Lab team and industry Product Managers from places like Amazon and Microsoft. Along with curated resources and a community of like-minded Product Managers, you'll get dedicated feedback for your project and spec submission from industry mentors.
Yes! You may find that after completing the Sprint program, you want to take your project to the next level. You're ready to build out your idea with a Designer and Developers! Select participants will receive invites to join the Co.Lab program. You'll get to decide if you want to continue and get assigned a team to build your MVP.
The Co.Lab Product Management Online Bootcamp is beginner-friendly, though best suited for those with at least one to two years of experience in leadership settings and/or professional working experience.
You should already know about the Product Management role. You will need to complete the Product Management Ideation Sprint program before you go into the Co.Lab program.
Most importantly, you're someone who wants the hands-on experience beyond just the theory. You're looking for practical Product Manager experience, and you're ready for the challenge. You want to go out to speak to users, lead a real cross-functional team, and get past the inevitable challenges.
If you prefer a classic classroom environment with live lectures and case studies, Co.Lab's Product Management Online Bootcamp may not be the right fit for you.
We offer two different PM Experiences here at Co.Lab:
a) PM Sprint (4-week): $500 USD upfront
b) PM Bootcamp (8-week): $3800 USD upfront
We offer multiple low-interest payment options for both programs.
Co.Lab's Product Management Online Bootcamp will require at least 15 to 20 hours per week for the entirety of the 8-week program.
There is a mix of live, pre-scheduled classes, as well as online content you can work on at your own place. You'll also need to make time to work with your team and meet with your Product Mentor. As part of our Product Management bootcamp, there will be weekly submissions to keep you on track, which are reviewed by your Product Mentor.
Just like we've said, we're not your traditional bootcamp! In terms of what your team builds, you know best.
During the Bootcamp, you decide what to build, work collaboratively to find users, and determine customer pain points. Check out Project Portfolios to get inspiration from previous students.
By not enforcing templated or boilerplate projects, you have the freedom to flex your own creativity. You can show that off during product management interviews, or as part of your product resume. We find that most teams will build something based on the product spec developed during the Sprint program.
Upon enrollment of the Bootcamp, you will be asked to complete a team match survey detailing your current skill level, time availabilities, personality, fields of interests, and commitment among others.
You will generally end up in a team of 1 mentor, 1 product manager, 1 product designer, and 2 software developers. All of your team members are vetted junior technologists, keen to learn and be part of the journey with you.
Please note that we are an international and remote program. You may be working with team members from varying time zones. While we do not guarantee that you will have team members with the exact preference as yours with regard to time zones, tech stack, etc., they should be the best fit for you to encourage personal and professional growth during the program.
Don't think of Co.Lab as a class or just an online bootcamp. It is a real-world experience that simulates the work environment.
If you want to do product management, you have to build a product. We want you to try it out for yourself, in the low-stakes and supportive environment that you'll get through Co.Lab.
If you’re looking for a challenge and to truly stand out from the crowd with cross-functional product experience, we'd love to have you apply!
