Learners say:
I am a co-founder of a Robo-Advisor startup called WealthAgile. Dr Joel Palathinkal has been doing an amazing job of teaching me Product Management! This course has assisted greatly in creating a new product. Joel's background in Product Management and Fintech has proven invaluable! I would recommend this course and Joel to anyone. Truly has been an amazingly educational process, that I am sure will continue into the future! - Timothy Burgess
This course is most similar to Co.Lab's 8-week Product Management Bootcamp because it teaches the fundamentals concepts an entry-level Product Manager should know, as well as lets you create a tangible student portfolio you can show to hiring managers.
That being said, it doesn’t have the cross-functional collaboration experience that you get in Co.Lab’s Bootcamp. That’s why after this course, it is recommended to still take Co.Lab so you can actually apply your learnings in a real-world setting and build a live product with a team consisting of developers, designer, and a mentor.
This course is more expensive at $4,199 than Co.Lab Product Management Bootcamp at $3,800. Both are good options if you want to learn the end-to-end process of Product Management.
However, Co.Lab also offers real-work collaborative experience on top of a lower cost, together with flexible monthly payment plans.
With both programs, you will get a Certificate of Completion as well as a student portfolio.
However, our focus at Co.Lab is to help learners gain confidence, credibility and tangible experience, beyond just the certificate. Portfolios with Co.Lab are just the end result - the work involves speaking to real users, doing market research, and potentially working with a team to build out a real MVP.
Additionally, Co.Lab portfolio are hosted publicly for you to share with recruiters, hiring managers and supporters. You can check out other student portfolios here.
Co.Lab’s programs are unique in that we focus on helping you stand out from the crowd, by building your personal brand and community online.
Co.Lab's Sprint & Bootcamp programs also have robust Build in Public program, where you get to share your wins and learnings to your professional network - ensuring you remain visible to recruiters and hiring managers.
Lastly, the Sprint & Bootcamp program grants you entry to an exclusive Discord community of tech professionals where you can get advice, networking opportunities, and referrals.
Co.Lab also has weekly mentor check-ins to ensure that you're guided appropriately by industry professionals. In fat, your spec in the Sprint & Bootcamp programs will be personally given feedback on by your mentors.
It will also be published on Co.Lab's website and posted in Co.Lab's social accounts.
There will also be an end-of-cohort celebration where top students get to present their product idea to the public.
Both Product School and Co.Lab’s Product Management Bootcamps teach the end-to-end product cycle. They also go into the specifics of product strategy, agile product management, prototyping, and go-to-market strategy.
In both courses, you will also have the chance to apply your learnings and build your own product, and get a certificate of completion at the end.
The starkest difference is that Co.Lab will provide you with the cross-functional, real-work experience of shipping a product with a UI/UX designer and software developers, as guided by a pre-vetted industry mentor.
Both Product School and Co.Lab’s Product Management Bootcams are cohort-based. They have live online instruction with group and independent active learning challenges. However, there are still key differences.
With Co.Lab's Product Management Sprint and Bootcamp program, you are in a cohort-based model with built-in accountability. You go through the program with other learners. You get to share your learnings, compare and contrast ideas, and provide you with real people who can be your sounding boards.
Lastly, you decide as a team what kind of tools to use, when to meet (although there are designated check-in dates), and be generally in charge of how to manage and lead a development team. If you are someone who thrives in a structured environment like this, then Co.Lab will be a great fit.
